On 18-19 October 2018 the 10th Bancassurance Congress organized by the Polish Insurance Association (PIA) and the Polish Bank Association (PBA) was held.
This edition of the event was focused on insurance and banking challenges connected with pro-client changes in the bancassurance sector.
During the conference the most important events which had happened in the bancassurance market in this year, were mentioned. In particular, the newest report about the Polish bancassurance sector prepared by PIA and PBA was presented (read more: PIU: Polish bancassurance market in II quarter 2018). Moreover lecturers discussed existing doubts about IDD implementation on the Polish market, whereas the Financial Ombudsman presented its experience of observance of new regulations on the bancassurance sector.
During debates the subject of the market’s changes and their development was taken up. Fintech was mentioned as one of bancassurance’s future predictions. According to Małgorzata Sadurska, PZU board member, fintech is not a chance or threat but it is the reality with which the insurance branch must deal.
The conference was aimed at insurance companies, banks, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority and its Office, the Ministry of Finance, the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, the Financial Ombudsman and press representatives.
