Chubb offers its customers travel insurance that is automatically activated when they cross the Polish border.
Chubb, the largest listed company specializing in insurance, has introduced Pay as You Roam, a travel insurance service that is automatically activated when you connect to a foreign operator’s network.
The initiative has already been introduced in Bulgaria in partnership with network operator Telenor. The insurer said that it plans to develop the proposal and introduce it to new markets in cooperation with banks, telecom companies, and other interested partners. Currently, Chubb is preparing the service for launch with the first partners in Poland.
The Pay as You Roam service can be found by interested parties at the insurer’s partners, namely in mobile banking or in the telecom operator’s app. In order to activate the travel policy, it is enough to connect to the network of a foreign operator. The registered user will then be recognized as a roaming user and the insurance cover will be activated automatically. Once the policy is activated, the user will have 4 hours to confirm the coverage or to refuse it and to indicate who should be covered. The insurance is deactivated in automatic mode when you stop roaming, that is, when you return to your home country. The policy is also deactivated when the stay abroad is longer than 31 days, which is the maximum period of insurance.
Customers will be able to find the necessary policy documents on the Chubb partners’ app. The premium for the protection is calculated daily and the payment is taken directly from the bank account or added to the cell phone bill.
