Paweł Borys, the president of the Polish Development Fund (PFR), said that the decision about private pension funds (OFE) future should be known before the start of the Employee Capital Plans (PPK).
According to Borys, knowledge about the future of OFE is fundamental for the capital market and its predictability. As he explained, it will also be helpful to improve trust in the market. So it should be known before the PPK starts, which means that before 1 June 2019.
In 2016, the financial minister Mateusz Morawiecki presented the plan to shift 25 percent of private pension fund (OFE) contributions to a state fund aimed at securing the solvency of retirement benefits, and the remainder to the private pension programs IKE or IKZE.
