Public consultation of the Guidelines of European Data Protection Board on the territorial scope of the GDPR has started. The consultation will last until 18 January 2019.
On 16 November 2018 the European Data Protection Board adopted Guidelines 3/2018 on the territorial scope of the GDPR (Article 3). Their aim is to ensure a coherent interpretation of the territorial scope of the GDPR and to explain GDPR’s application in different situations especially when an administrator or a processor does not have a place of residence in the European Union.
