During the 590 Congress, one of the most important economy events in Poland, the Polish Insurance Association (PIU) presented their first study, describing how the insurance branch impacts on the economy. According to the report, the sector makes 2% of Polish GDP, insures 60% of Polish companies’ assets and provides 225,000 workplaces.
”In Poland a long-term economic growth will not exist without insurance. Companies which want to start their business on the new markets have to insure themselves. Insurance decreases risk connected with running a business, investment and export. Currently insurers protect Polish companies to the value of PLN 460 bln”, says Jan Grzegorz Prądzyński, CEO of the Polish Insurance Association.
