Visa has announced that it received approval from the National Bank of Poland to change the limit from 50 to 100 PLN.
“We are currently talking with banks about when and how to best implement the change. Our top priority is to maintain a balance between convenience and safety for both customers and retailers” Visa’s press release states.
Visa has the biggest share on the Polish card market. Mastercard, who is in second place, received the central bank’s approval to raise the PINless transaction limit last year. The company announced that their customers would see the change implemented in the second quarter of 2019. It seems that Visa will update its card use policy at roughly the same time.
