On 7 December the Prime Minister, upon the motion of the minister responsible for financial institutions, appointed Bohdan Pretkiel as the new Financial Ombudsman.
Mariusz Golecki, who previously held the position, became the new Deputy Minister of Development and Technology.
Bohdan Pretkiel is an attorney at law and has a PhD in legal science. Since April 2016 he has been a member of the expert team on the construction of civil dialogue institutions at the Government Plenipotentiary for Civil Society, and since December 2017 he has been the president of the think-tank Mikołaj Sienicki Institute. The new Ombudsman is also an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, and has been teaching legal logic at the WPIA UW since 2012.
The term of office of the Financial Ombudsman is 4 years.
