New president of UOKiK. The nomination was given to Tomasz Chróstny

Tomasz Chróstny has been promoted to the position of president of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK). He will replace Marek Niechciał who on 20 December 2019 was appointed by the Insurance Guarantee Fund Council as a member of the management board. Tomasz Chróstny graduated in finance and accounting at the Warsaw School of Economics and in management and production engineering at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. He also completed a postgraduate course at the Institute of Enterprise at the Warsaw School of Economics.

His professional career started out on projects in the field of auditing financial statements of financial institutions, company valuation and detection of crime and fraud. He is also involved in making economic, market and sector analyses as well as economic forecasts.

Tomasz Chróstny worked at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and at the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology, where until 25 August 2019 he served as a director of the Department of Economic Analysis. He is a university lecturer at the Warsaw School of Economics. On 26 August 2019 the Prime Minister appointed Tomasz Chróstny as the Vice President of UOKiK.
