On Friday (22.07.2016) the Lower Chamber of the Polish Parliament passed an amendment to the Act on tourist services. The amended act imposes on travel agencies an obligation to pay the Tourist Guarantee Fund contributions in the amount of up to PLN 30 per customer. The amendment aims to ensure better protection of tourists in the event of insolvency of tour operators.
The new regulations provide for the establishment of the Tourist Guarantee Fund (TFG), financed by the contributions paid by the travel agencies. The amount of the contributions will be determined in the executive regulation to the amendment. It is known today that it will be within the range of PLN 0-30 per customer.
