The Polish government adopted a draft bill on increasing the minimum liability coverage in insurance policy premiums for vehicle owners and farmers.
The increase of the minimum liability coverage by 4.2% will have a minor impact on mandatory car insurance prices, and might result in an increase of the average amount of paid claims for past accidents.
The Ministry of Finance said in an impact study to the draft bill that the minimum liability coverage was to be hiked by the amount representing a percentage change of CPI in the period of five years calculated as of the end of the transition period (4.14%) and rounded to the multiple of EUR 10,000.
The new regulations are expected to come into force on 31 December 2018.
