The vast majority of Poles (nearly 80 percent) buy real estate insurance, according to the last Europa Group’s report.
Poles usually spend between PLN 100 and PLN 200 per year to buy a house or flat insurance policy, according to the report. Over half of the respondents admitted that their residential property had been insured for at least eight years. As many as 74 percent of property owners buy one-year insurance policies.
Monika Ziółkowska, a real estate insurance expert at Europa Group, said that those holding house or flat insurance policies most often report damage caused by flooding or by strong hurricane winds, whose incidence is increasing in Poland.
