The Polish central bank, NBP, could supervise the banking and insurance sectors, while the possible supervision over the capital market is a subject for a discussion, Adam Glapiński the President of NBP said during a panel at an economic congress in Rzeszów.
„Certainly over the banking sector and insurance,” said Glapiński. He was asked which parts of the financial sector NBP could supervise. „Whether over the capital market – one might discuss that,” he added, while observing that the latter solution has pros and cons.
Earlier, Glapiński revoiced an opinion that the financial market supervising watchdog KNF should be included into NBP structures.
