The Polish insurance group PZU expects to be able to make a dividend payment from 2020 profits, judging from current solvency ratios, said CEO Beata Kozłowska–Chylł at a conference.
„In my opinion, the current levels [of solvency] allow us to think about a dividend payout for 2020, of course provided this assessment is in line with KNF’s assessment and provided we are allowed [to make a payment],” Kozlowska–Chyla said.
Moreover PZU hopes to be able to make a dividend payment also from 2019 profits in 2021.
„We would like to share the result with our shareholders as much as possible, not only the regular result for 2020. We remember about 2019,” Kulik said.
PZU is now in talks with financial market regulator KNF „also regarding this issue,” he said. „Such a strong balance sheet is not something we currently need – we do not plan spectacular acquisitions and even if we did, the level of equity we have is absolutely sufficient to realize potential transactions.
PZU paid no dividend from 2019 profit following a recommendation from KNF.
