PZU SA appointed new CEO

PZU SA announced in March 2020 the appointments of Beata Kozłowska-Chyła and Malgorzata Kot to the management board of the company.

The PZU SA Supervisory Board appointied Beata Kozłowska-Chyła to the management board of PZU SA, entrusting her with the function of the President of the Management Board of PZU SA, subject to the approval of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF).

Beata Kozłowska-Chyła graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw. She obtained a doctoral degree in legal sciences and then a postdoctoral degree in legal sciences. She is a lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw in the Department of Commercial Law. She performs the profession of legal advisor and is a recommended arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw.

Kozłowska-Chyła was a member of the Supervisory Board of PZU SA, a member of the Supervisory Board of TFI PZU SA and PTE PZU SA, and a member of the management board of PZU SA twice. She also sat on the management board of PZU Zycie SA. Currently, she is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Grupa Lotos SA. She worked as the deputy director of the Legal and Licensing Department at the Office for Supervision over Pension Funds, she was the President of the Management Board of Polski Wydawnictwo Ekonomiczny SA.

At the time Paweł Surówka was the president of PZU, the Group was also involved in the international promotion of Poland and the Polish economy, opening the Polish House during the World Economic Forum in Davos, participating in the creation of a joint stock index of the Three Seas countries and appointing the Business Council of Central and Eastern Europe.

On 12 March 2020, PZU announced the resignation of Paweł Surówka, President of PZU Group. He was associated with the PZU Group for four years. He served as the president of PZU for three years. Previously, he held the position of President of PZU Życie and was a board member responsible for investments.

The PZU SA Supervisory Board also appointed Malgorzata Kot as a member of the Management Board of PZU SA with effect from 1 June 2020.
