On 26 April 2017 the Supervision of PZU ŻYCIE SA (the life insurance company of PZU SA) appointed Roman Pałac to the position of the company’s CEO. He replaces Paweł Surówka who become the CEO of PZU Group (read more: Appointment of the CEO of PZU SA).
Roman Pałac graduated in Economics from the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). He attained a Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree from the London Business School with the rector’s award for outstanding achievements.
He has gained extensive experience working for Polish and foreign financial institutions. In 2003-2007, Pałac worked as Project Manager for the World Bank where he was responsible for preparing and coordinating loan programs aimed at the implementation of policies focused on improving energy efficiency in Central and East European countries. He also coordinated endeavours seeking to reform Poland’s coal-mining sector. From 2009 to 2016, he was a Junior Partner at The Boston Consulting Group responsible for the provision of insurance and banking advisory services related to claims handling, organizational changes, business strategy development, sales activation etc. He also participated as an expert in several bank merger deals.
