The Polish Insurance Association (PIA) has presented the results of the Polish insurance market after Q1 2017. From January to March 2017 insurers paid more than PLN 10 bln in compensation and benefits. It is a growth of 17.5% compared with the results after Q1 2016.
In the analysed period of time insurers paid PLN 5.7 bln in compensation due to life insurance and PLN 4.8 bln in compensation due to P&C insurance. According to PIA premiums were PLN 15.9 bln (a growth of 18.4%). Insurers’ net profit in the life insurance market was PLN 484.9 mln (a drop of 16.1%). Non-life insurers earned PLN 538.6 mln.
